The Cape to Addo National Park Safari is a unique, safe and affordable way to experience the thrill of game driving in an authentic BIG 5 National Game Park, while touring the coastal regions of both the Western and Eastern Cape.

Every Cape to Addo Safari is professionally driven and guided by an experienced and qualified  tour leader and the itinerary is packed full of unique African experiences and exciting discoveries.


Day 1 - Cape Town to Knysna (Overberg, Whale Route Meander).

Departing Cape Town at 8:30 am, our exciting journey begins today as we join the world famous whale route in Gordons Bay for a stunning drive along the picturesque R44 mountain pass overlooking False Bay to the vibrant coastal town of Hermanus. After an opportunity to take some photographs we continue back inland to join the N2 and onto our destination. This day is designed to be a relaxing one for you to get to know your fellow travellers, to get used to travelling in our vehicle and to settle into the comfortable routine of life on tour.

Day 2 – Knysna to Addo Elephant National Park, (view the bungee bridge)

We drive to the highest road bridge in Africa at Bloukrans Bridge. At a height of 216m this is also the site of the highest bungy jump in the world! For those wishing to take the leap, this is your opportunity! Afterwards we make our way inland towards Addo and our accommodation for the night, in the Sundays River Valley. Set in a wild and scenic location on the banks of the Sundays River, we take the time to relax under the African sun. Around the campfire tonight, this is what you've come to experience - Wild Africa at her enigmatic best! Visit the water hole at night to view the nocturnal creatures of the darkness.

Day 3 – Addo National Park Exploring Day

Up early this morning, we begin our Addo Park Safari along a network of winding roads stopping regularly for photographs and information on the animals we encounter along the way. On our game drive we'll also disembark from our vehicle at the main lookout point for a spectacular view over the evergreen wilderness that is Addo. After our game drive we'll take lunch at the park restaurant before an afternoon rest. Proclaimed a National Park in 1931, this malaria free, 145 000 ha. Park, extends all the way down to the Indian Ocean and is home to the densest African Elephant population on earth, totalling over 500 elephant. This evening we take another game drive to spot some more wildlife. Returning to the lodge and restaurant to talk over the days sightings.

Day 4 -  Addo to Schotia Private Game Reserve

This morning you have the opportunity to explore a little more of the national park before taking a short cut through the reserve t our next highlight of our safari.

  • Schotia Pirivate Game Reserve scheduled African experience.
  • Arrival time 14:30. Please note:  you do not go to your lodge before the game drive
  • Register at our office and sign indemnity
  • Meet your ranger and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee before departing on game drive
  • Guided game drive from 15:00 - 17:00 (viewing antelope, Zebra, Rhino, Giraffe etc...)
  • 17:00 refreshments and toilet stop
  • Continue guided game drive until 19:00 viewing nocturnal animals, Hippo and LIONS!!
  • 19:00 return to Lapa for a scrumptious meal cooked over open fires.
  • Night drive before retiring to your accommodation for a restful night’s sleep

Day 5 – Schotia /Addo National Park to Jeffrey's Bay

Wake and enjoy an early morning game drive to spot some more wildlife.

Breakfast is enjoyed at the boma

Transfer back to Schotia HQ Office for departure and on with our tour.

After which we make our way back towards the coast to the famous town of Jefferies Bay for the night.

Day 6  - Jeffrey’s Bay to Wilderness

Today we travel back along the Garden Route and explore some more scenic areas and have time to visit Plentenberg Bay with short hike in the Roberg Nature Reserve. From here we travel a little further to our nights accommodation in Wilderness region.

Day 7- Wilderness to Cape Town

Today is a transfer day back to Cape Town where our tour ends.
