River Rafting Day Trip

Breede River 1 day rafting

Xama Adventures offers 1 day river rafting on the Breede River through the winelands near Worcester or near the historical town of Swellendam.

Recommended is the rafting near the town of Swellendam as the scenery is more spectacular, rapids exciting and we do not have to protage (get out of the boat) any of the rapids. This by far the most popular section to experience your day of river rafting - only 3 hours from Cape Town or George.

Come and explore the Breede River on a rafting trail that is suitable for all ages.

Surrounded by farmlands and tranquility, the Breede River is an ideal escape from the city for a day or overnight trip. Minimum group size is 8 people per group.

Ideal for corporate incentives, families, couples, adventure seekers and in general outdoor people seeking a weekend break or mid-week excursion.

Come and explore the Breede River Valley near Worcester and take a well-deserved break from the city. This unique valley is home to the Breede River, its wine farms and beautiful Hex River Mountains.

Only 1 and a half-hours from Cape Town. Enquire about the water level as it is not as constant as the Swellendam section.

The Breede River originates in the Great Hex River Mountains in Ceres and meanders through farm and wine lands and eventually takes a turn past Bonnievale and Swellendam before it joins the Indian Ocean at Witsand. It hosts a wide variety of bird life such as Fish Eagles, Black Eagles, Jackal Buzzards, Herons, Cormorants and King Fishers.

The Swelledam section offers the more scenic trail meandering through the Overberg Region down towards the coast. Often enjoyed with encounters of Fish Eagle and other bird species among which are mentioned above.

Meet at the Xama Fish Eagle River Camp at 08h30 for a meet and greet before heading upstream to the put in point. After a safety briefing we embark on the days adventure of paddling and negotiating the rapids
