Accommodation

Sleep under the stars, set up a comfy camp or have your dome tents up and ready for you upon arrival. We keep it simple and authentic for a full experience in nature and the outdoors. We are a mobile operation as well as have our own base camp on the Breede River not far from the picturesque town of Swellendam

Activities

From ziplines, to river rafting to conservation + wildlife encounters we offer a variety of grade camps to our school market. Our aim is to meet school objectives and provide an immersive experience for the learners. Xama Adventures has over 20 years experience working with schools, providing set itineraries that meet budget and purpose. Some of our longstanding clientele include : Reddam Constantia, Generation Schools Somerset West, Llandudno Primary, Rustenburg Girls, Bridge House to name a few.

WEEK WITHOUT WALLS

This tour offers observational learning outside of the conventional classroom environment and places emphasis on learning through nature. It has elements of water (river trail on the breede), wildlife (walk with the elephants), nature (zipline) and survival. Suitable for Grade 7 and higher.

4 NIGHT ORANGE RIVER TOUR

We have put together an adventure itinerary designed to suit the school market with exciting day on the river.

We offer a 4 night package suitable for Grade 8 and higher.

2 DAY RAFTING EXPERIENCE

This tour is set at our base camp on the banks of the Breede River, a short drive from Swellendam. We offer a full-day rafting excursion including transfers to put in point, safety chats, along with activities + team-building experiences over a 2-day period. Suitable for all ages from 10 and up.

MARINE WALK & VULTURE HIKE

This tour is set at the World Heritage Site of De Hoop Nature Reserve and offers a lighthearted marine walk + snorkelling in the tidal pools with a moderately steep hike up the Potberg Mountains to the Cape Vulture lookout.

Over and above our featured tours we do offer an array of tailored packages designed around the schools directives, principles and budget. We have assisted with Earth Science tours set on measuring and studying the flow of rivers, outreach programs + inhouse team-building camps at our base camp. Our main areas are the Richtersveld, Namibia, Kalahari, Overberg – Swellendam and surrounds but not limited to.

We have a variety of fun, educational school packages with some groups as big as 100 scholars, our grade camps are grouped with age-appropriate activities and catering in mind.
